About the Artist
Dr. Russell Nebelung is a practicing musician and instructor residing in Lansing, Michigan. He performs regularly for private events and has performed as a guest artist with Michigan State University, the Lansing Concert Band, the Grand Ledge Singers on the Grand, and more. Russell is a music instructor at Spring Arbor University and also teaches private guitar lessons from his home studio in Lansing, where he and his wife have lived since 2011.
Russell is a graduate of Indiana University's Jacob's School of Music, where he earned his Doctorate of Music in classical guitar performance while studying with Maestro Ernesto Bitetti. From 2012-2015 he taught guitar classes and lessons while at IU as an associate instructor and has minors in both jazz studies and music theory.
From 2006-2012, Russell was a practicing musician in mid-Michigan, where he held adjunct faculty positions at Spring Arbor University, Albion College, and Hillsdale College.
In 2006, he was awarded his Master of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where he studied with Prof. Clare Callahan and held a position as a Graduate Assistant.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Music and Economics/Management from Albion College in 2003, where he studied with Larry Williams.
